Statement from Interim State Superintendent Larry Craven
regarding 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Order
“The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit entered an order today that stops the implementation of Section 28 of Alabama’s Immigration Law pending resolution of the appeal."
"All schools will cease to identify birth origin of students through birth certificates or affidavits as previously directed. Schools will revert to enrollment procedures in effect prior to September 29.”
OUT OF DISTRICT GUIDELINESOut of District Forms will not be accepted before MAY 1, 2012. Applications will be accepted starting May 1, 2012 until June 15, 2012. The Fort Payne City School District will not determine approval or denial of an application until after June 15, 2012. Applicant students will be notified of their status no later than FIVE days before the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
Admission for out of district students will be based on availability according to state guidelines for classroom size. Information AvailableCurriculum Pacing Guides are available for download.
